As a Care and Education Support Worker you will work as part of a highly motivated care staff team and will work flexibly across the service to ensure the seamless delivery of person-centred care plans and individual learning plans to all of our learners and citizens and their families.

During term time you will accompany learners when they attend college to provide effective learning support under the direction of a specialist tutor and monitor the well-being of learners and citizens and report any concerns. You will contribute to the recording of student progress and achievement (RARPA) and identify areas for development and feedback to the tutor.

You will be empathetic and able to react with sensitivity to a variety of situations, have an understanding for the need of confidentiality and have experience of working with people with challenging and complex needs and disabilities.

You should have good organisational skills and have a good team work ethic. You will be expected to maintain professional boundaries whilst building good working relationships with citizens, other staff and outside agencies.

Shift patterns for this role are flexible and may be a variety of 12 hour shifts, 7 hour shifts or split shifts across 7 days and will be mixture of early and late shifts dependant on the business needs. Shifts will be provided 2 months in advance and you will be required to work across Independent Living, Short Breaks and FE Residential services. You should include your availability within your application as this will be discussed at interview with the hiring manager.

You will have Level 2 NVQ in Health & Social Care or equivalent or be willing to work towards this qualification.
