The Role

Our Day Service is open 5 days a week, 50 weeks a year and is registered with our Local Authority. The Day Service is located on the Portland College campus. The working hours for these posts will be 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday.

 

Successful candidates will be required to work from our Day Centre which is located on the Portland College campus and also from hubs in the local community.

 

In the Day Service, we work hard to ensure that Citizens enjoy their time with us and have access to opportunities that will help promote well-being and build social skills, confidence and independence.

 

We need caring and compassionate people, who can show commitment to these positive values and deliver safe care and support with energy and enthusiasm.

 

You will provide support, care and guidance with regards to the Mental Capacity Act and deliver high standards of personal care in line with individual support plans.

 

You will also be responsible for planning and delivering activity sessions in the Day Service and reviewing the progress with individuals using personal development plans. Good ICT skills are essential, as target progress will be captured using our innovative Care App which has recently be rolled out to enhance our standard of documentation.

 

Ideal candidates will have experience working with individuals who have sensory processing disorders and will be able to plan sensory-based activities, taking an intensive interaction approach when supporting our Citizens.


The role involves delivery of personal care in line with care plans. This will include, moving & handling i.e. stand transferring, hoisting, pushing citizens in wheelchairs over distance.


The role will include supporting citizens to take part in a wide range of activities including sports, outdoor pursuits, games so they have opportunities for inclusion and developing new skills.
