The Role

This is an exciting opportunity for a committed and innovative candidate to continue to develop our onsite and offsite activities relating to sports, health and well-being and the arts.


Based in our recently developed Newstart Theatre and Sports Hall, you will work with our partners to deliver and grow our established and popular Newstart Activities programme, offering an exciting range of inclusive activities to our learners and citizens and the wider community both on and offsite.


You will also manage the venue commercially, coordinating all external theatre and sports hall bookings and promoting the venue to new audiences.


As part of our Strategic Plan, we aim to become a Centre of Excellence for Health and Well-being and this role is central to that aim.


This full-time role will suit candidates who prefer to work later shifts. A typical working day will be from 10am until 6pm, Monday to Friday, however there will be regular evening and weekend commitments, so flexibility is essential.

Qualifications needed


Degree in Sports and / or Performing Arts, Management or a related field.

Travel will be required within the role however this can be discussed in more detail at the interview stage.


It would also be beneficial for candidates to hold the following qualifications, although full training can be provided:

·        Sports Coaching or Activity Leadership Qualification

·        First Aid Certificate


Working Hours


A typical working day will be from 10am until 6pm, Monday to Friday, however there will be regular evening and weekend commitments with some evening events until 11pm, so flexibility is essential.
