We are looking for an adaptable and diligent Accounts Assistant to join our Finance team here at Portland College. We are looking for someone who has a positive work ethic and who is able to collaborate effectively with others.
The successful candidate will ideally have some experience working within a finance role, however, we are willing to provide additional training if someone lacks experience but has other skills and attributes we are looking for.
A day in the role will primarily involve working on accounts payable with some accounts receivable. In addition, the Accounts Assistant will be responsible for processing accounts payable invoices and raising sales invoices, as well as supporting with processes and management reports at the end of each month in a timely manner.
To thrive in this role, you will take a collaborative approach within the team, providing support to team members where required, and working closely with the Assistant Accountant. Within this role, you will come into contact with Portland Charity staff, learners and citizens, therefore the ideal candidate will have an approachable and friendly manner.
This role is office based, therefore computer and literacy skills are a must. Some experience in using finance systems would be desirable, but additional training can be provided.

Qualifications needed
Essential
· Level 2 Maths (or equivalent)
· Level 2 English (or equivalent)
Desirable
Accountancy/Finance Qualification (Level 2 minimum)
Working Hours
Monday – Friday: 9:00am – 5:00pm
